Our impact on different types of cancer
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. We have saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
Rather than focusing on one type of cancer, we fund research into a wide range of cancers. From the most common – such as breast, bowel, lung and prostate cancers – to rare types of tumour, we support groundbreaking science that brings benefits to all people with cancer.
On these pages, you can find examples of the impact our work has made in improving the outlook for people with specific types of cancer over the years. This section is by no means complete, and we are continually adding to these pages as we search through our archives and compile the information hidden within them.
