Cancer survival in the European Union

Table 3.11 shows the five-year relative survival rates for the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the EU grouped into quintiles with the proportion of all cancers. About a third of all cancers diagnosed have a five-year survival rate of 60% or more but one quarter have five-year survival rates below 20%.

Download Table 3.22-4 for the all ages five-year survival rate for some commonly diagnosed cancers for the EU countries participating in the EUROCARE 3 study, with highest rates typically in Austria, France, Spain and Sweden and the lowest rates typically in Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Estonia.
