Cancer incidence - UK statistics

Incidence statistics for 2008 in the UK are presented here. The latest cancer incidence statistics available for the UK are for 2009, and for mortality the latest statistics are for 2010. We are currently working to update all the incidence and mortality pages on this site. Find out why more up to date statistics are not yet available.

There were 309,527 people diagnosed with cancer in the UK in 2008; this equates to around 504 cases for every 100,000 people.

We would like to acknowledge the essential work of the cancer registries in the United Kingdom Association of Cancer Registries. Most of these cancer registries have been collecting population-based cancer data since the early 1960s, and without these registries there would be no incidence or survival data.
