Statistics on the most commonly diagnosed types of cancer in the UK

This section provides comprehensive statistical information for 26 of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the UK. Please select the type of cancer you are interested in from the menu on the left.

The cancer registries of the UK do not release cancer statistics right up to the current year. ISD Scotland give a good explanation of why we are not able to use data right up to the current year.

We update the website after we have conducted rigorous checks on the cancer registry statistics or after a paper CancerStats report has been published. The information on this website is based on our successful CancerStats reports. All of these reports are available to download free of charge along with PowerPoint presentations of the charts and tables in the reports.
