England Footballers Foundation
Cancer Research UK is proud to be working with the England Footballers Foundation to help people make positive changes to their lifestyle and reduce their risk of cancer.
The England team launched the England Footballers Foundation in 2007 and have since raised over £1million for various charities. Cancer Research UK has been chosen as their official charity partner for the next four years.
Rio Ferdinand said "As a squad we decided a few years ago that we would donate all our match fees to charity and that we would help to highlight the great work that our chosen charity partners do. The players are proud to be supporting Cancer Research UK and we are looking forward to doing our bit to help beat cancer."
Richard Taylor, Executive Director, Fundraising and Supporter Marketing at Cancer Research UK said: "We are delighted that The England Footballers Foundation has chosen Cancer Research UK as its charity partner"
Through our partnership, the players, amongst other activities, will fund one of the charity’s Cancer Awareness Roadshow mobile units.
All of the players are committed to supporting Cancer Research UK’s vision of beating cancer. As Frank Lampard says "More than one in three of us will get cancer at some point in our lives so it’s important that we help tackle the disease."
