The Marie Keating Foundation
Cancer Research UK is proud to be working in partnership with the Marie Keating Foundation.
The Marie Keating Foundation was set up in Ireland by Ronan Keating and his family, following the untimely death of their mother from cancer in February 1998.
The Keating Family realised the need for knowledge and awareness of cancer, particularly early detection signs and maintaining a healthy life.
In May 2001 they developed three mobile units which have visited over 2,750 towns, villages and corporate sites in Ireland. Since the launch the units have provided information to over 79,331 people and 3,784 people have been referred to their GPs.
The Marie Keating Foundation and Ronan Keating are supporting two of Cancer Research UK’s Roadshow units.
“My family and I were naturally devastated when my mum died of cancer in 1998 and wanted to help other people understand and be aware of the illness. We are excited to be working with Cancer Research UK.”
