Ten Top Tips Diary Group Feedback - Week 8
Ten Top Tips - Habits Check-Up
Over time our volunteers have starting to form healthy habits. This means they are consistently performing the tips with out having to give much thought to them. Each tip becomes a natural part of a daily life. It is quite normal for our daily routines to change over time, for example lifestyle changes such as changing jobs, moving house, or a change in family circumstances (e.g. having children) can affect the healthy habit that has been formed as part of the original routine.
It is therefore really important that our volunteers and people following the Ten Top Tips programme check-up on the tips they are achieving on a regular basis even after the 10 weeks is up. Our volunteers might find it useful to:
- Conduct a habits check-up every 2 months by filling out the tick sheet for 1 week
- If you notice a tip is slipping, start using the tick-sheet, but only for the tips that have slipped
- Re-establish a new routine and plan to incorporate the most challenging tip
- Look back to previous tick sheets, to see how the tip was accomplished then
- Monitor your weight on a regular basis (e.g. daily or weekly). Research shows that people who regularly monitor their weight are more successful at controlling it in the long-term
