On this page you can find out how to receive alerts whenever content on News & Resources is updated.
"RSS feeds" are special web addresses that alert you when chosen webpages have been updated, without you having to visit the website itself. "RSS" stands for Really Simple Syndication.
To use these feeds, you need to use a special piece of software called an 'RSS reader’ (see below). These are programmes that automatically check selected websites for updated items, such as news headlines or podcasts.
You may notice RSS feeds being used in more software as standard in the future. For instance, the latest version of Microsoft Windows, set for release in 2007, comes with feed-reading software built in, as do a number of mobile phones currently available in shops.
We offer three types of RSS feed:
You can subscribe to RSS feeds that are updated every time we publish new content on the site.
You can see currently available feeds on the right-hand side of this page.
We publish press releases and external news daily. Please see our separate 'News feeds' page in the News section of this site for more info, or subscribe using the orange buttons on the right of this page.
Subscribe to our monthly podcast, showcasing every aspect of the charity's work - scientific research, health awareness, fundraising, celebrity interviews, survivors’ stories and more.
If you don’t already have one, first you will need a RSS reader. There are many RSS reader programmes available, including the below:
Windows
Mac OSX
Web
Web Browser with built-in RSS reader
Once you have a news reader you can begin subscribing to news feeds by looking for orange RSS buttons. You can click on the button to view a RSS feed directly, or drag the button or URL of the feed onto an area of the reader to subscribe.
