Wales to host cancer conference
Monday 13 February 2006
Cancer Research UK is to provide some of the key speakers at a major cancer research conference to be held in Cardiff next month.
The two-day event, Collaborating in Cancer Research 2006, is being organised by the Wales Cancer Institute in the Millennium Stadium on March 8th - 9th.
Cancer Research UK's professor Julian Peto and its clinical director, Dr Richard Sullivan, will be two of the event's main speakers, alongside Dr Nik Zeps of the Western Australian Research Tissue Network.
The conference is intended to bring together consultants, patient groups, campaigners and researchers from across the spectrum to meet and discuss current cancer care and research.
The event marks the first time that all the cancer research bodies and individuals working in Wales have the chance to meet. Up to 300 delegates from across the UK are expected to attend the conference.
