Sunbeds and skin cancer risk

Rebecca Russell, Cancer Research UK's SunSmart Campaign Manager, said:
"Cancer Research UK advises against the use of sunbeds for cosmetic purposes, especially by young people. We know that people who first use sunbeds before the age of 35 have a higher risk of melanoma - the most dangerous type of skin cancer.
"Every time you use a sunbed you are damaging your skin and accelerating your skin’s natural ageing process.
"We believe under-18s should not be allowed to use sunbeds and support the banning of un-staffed salons."
