Breast cancer press pack
Cancer Research UK is calling on men and women everywhere to 'Join the fight for women's survival' as it launches its breast cancer awareness and fundraising campaign.
The campaign is designed to act as a rallying cry to encourage everyone to help raise funds for the charity's life-saving research and make women aware of what they can do to reduce their risk of the disease.
Cancer Research UK is at the forefront of global efforts to tackle breast cancer, spending over £41 million last year on groundbreaking research into the disease. This work is funded entirely by the public.
Cancer Research UK's crucial lab work is behind many important drugs, such as tamoxifen and herceptin, which have saved the lives of many thousands of women with breast cancer. In fact more women than ever before are surviving the disease thanks to advances in research and Cancer Research UK has been at the heart of that progress. But with 12,000 women a year still dying from the disease, there is still a lot to be done.
