Regional Cancer Framework for Northern Ireland

Consultation: Regional Cancer Framework, A Cancer Control Programme for Northern Ireland
Source: the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Northern Ireland.
Date: February 2007

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Northern Ireland asked for feedback on their document ‘Regional Cancer Framework, A Cancer Control Programme for Northern Ireland’. The purpose of the proposed Regional Cancer Framework is to set out a clear plan describing how the burden of cancer can be reduced in Northern Ireland.

Cancer Research UK responded to this consultation, welcoming the publication and intentions of the Regional Cancer Framework. We are broadly supportive of the consultation recommendations. Long-term strategy setting is essential for cancer services, and we hope that the Framework continues to be developed with the long-term challenges facing cancer policy in mind.
