Each year in Northern Ireland around 6,500 people are diagnosed with cancer and more than 3,500 people die from the disease.
Cancer Research Northern Ireland is part of Cancer Research UK, and wants to do more to help people with cancer in Northern Ireland.
The Northern Ireland Assembly was suspended in October 2002, and the Secretary of State has assumed responsibility for the Northern Ireland Departments. Cancer Research Northern Ireland continues to inform political debate and help in the formulation of science and healthcare policies.
Previously, the charity has given evidence to a range of consultations including the Inquiry into the delivery of cancer services in Northern Ireland.
