The conference was addressed by Health Secretary, Nicola Sturgeon, with a keynote speech from Professor Sir Kenneth Calman, renowned cancer expert and co-author of the Calman-Hine Report which led to an overhaul of cancer services in the UK.
In addition, the conference heard from an expert panel including Dr Laurence Gruer, Director of Public Health Science at NHS Health Science, Professor Nora Kearney, Director of the Cancer Care Research Centre, Professor Roland Wolf, Director of the Cancer Research UK Molecular Pharmacology Unit in Dundee, and Jeff Hurst, cancer patient.
The full programme can be found on the conference website and a conference report will be available shortly. Scotland Against Cancer is organised by Cancer Research UK with the endorsement of the Scottish Parliament's Cross Party Group on Cancer.
