Ambassador Lobby of the Welsh Assembly

On Wednesday 2 July, Cancer Research UK will hold its first Ambassador Lobby of the Welsh Assembly at Bute Park in Cardiff. At the Lobby, Assembly Members will be able to talk to their constituents firsthand about cancer and how best to plan for the future. There will be a photo opportunity, followed by drinks and canapés.

The purpose of the event is to enable constituents from every part of Wales to tell their AMs why a Welsh Cancer Plan is so important to them. In 2007, Cancer Research UK presented more than a quarter of a million petition signatures to the Welsh Assembly, calling for a Cancer Plan for Wales. Our Cancer 2020 campaign urged all four UK governments to plan now for the future challenges of cancer, a call which has already seen the unveiling of the Cancer Reform Strategy in England and the revision of the Cancer in Scotland Strategy.
