MPs from across England have rolled up their sleeves and got down to work at their local Cancer Research UK shop to celebrate Volunteers' Week.
The MPs, from across the party political spectrum, are aiming to encourage people to give up their time and help out in their local Cancer Research UK shops.
There are around 600 Cancer Research UK shops across the UK which sell donated goods as well as specialist card and gift shops. They rely on local people to donate good quality clothes, shoes, books and bric-a-brac, as well as volunteers to help run the stores.
Stephen Gee, Retail Volunteer Development Manager at Cancer Research UK said, "Volunteering is great fun and it's also really rewarding to know that you're contributing to a charity whose dedicated doctors, scientists and nurses are making a real difference to the lives of cancer patients.
"We have volunteers of all ages and abilities, many of whom have themselves been touched by cancer, volunteering in our shops. But there is always more work to be done and even just a few hours can help us enormously."
