Cancer Research UK’s News & Resources website was launched in January 2005, and provides in-depth, up-to-date information for anyone with a professional or general interest in cancer and health.
The News & Resources website is run by members of the Charity’s Communication and Information Directorate.

Nicola O'Connor
Senior Online Manager (Health and Science Communication)
Nicola manages the News and Resources website, overseeing content development, evaluation and new initiatives. She spent many years working as a cancer researcher and holds a postgraduate degree in science communication.
Henry Scowcroft
Online Manager (Health and Science Communication)
Henry has a background in biological sciences and science communication. He works with Nicola and Jo to oversee the development of the site, and is also the section editor for the Cancer & Research section.
Jo Atherton
Web Editor
Jo is the primary contact for website issues, projects and marketing. She works with the rest of the team to develop content, establish editorial standards to communicate to our audiences effectively and to improve usability.
Kat Arney
Section Editor (Cancer & Research)
Kat oversees the content on Cancer and Research, aiming to bring the charity’s research to life for our supporters and the general public, as well as helping to write the Science Update blog. Kat was previously a scientific researcher before coming to work for Cancer Research UK.
Nell Barrie
Content Editor (Cancer & Research)
Nell has a biology degree and a master's in science communication. She works on the Research Highlights section, ensuring that researcher's profiles are up to date and adding new content as Cancer Research UK's research portfolio expands.
Jess Harris
Section Editor (Healthy Living)
Jess has a degree in Natural Sciences. She manages and writes for the Healthy Living section of the site, and makes sure that it is based on the best and most up-to-date evidence.
Jo Meadows
Section Editor (CancerStats)
Jo manages the update of incidence, mortality and survival data in the CancerStats section. She’s also responsible for the section’s design and development.
Rachel Gonzaga
Section Editor (News)
Rachel is Cancer Research UK’s senior health press officer and oversees the news section of the site. She studied human sciences before joining the press team.
Laura Mulcahy
Section Editor (Policy & Public Affairs)
Laura works in the Charity's Policy and Public Affairs department. She edits the Public Policy section of News & Resources, making sure that our latest views on political, health and cancer issues are online.
Josephine Querido
Section Editor (Youth & Schools)
Josephine manages the Youth & Schools section. She has a background in science communication, writing and editing a wide range of material, and also has experience in the educational sector.
The site complements the Charity’s other online information resources:

Content
The information on the website is updated and reviewed regularly and each page should have the month in which it was last updated at the bottom of the page.
The information on this site is largely compiled by staff in the Policy and Communication Directorate at Cancer Research UK. Much of the information has been adapted from already established paper resources. There are many people contributing to the content of this site, if you have any questions or want any further information please email us.
