Alternative therapies are sometimes used instead of conventional medical treatment. There is no solid scientific evidence to show that any alternative therapy can successfully treat cancer.
Some people with cancer may not start conventional treatment and may choose to use an ‘alternative therapy’ instead. Or they might stop conventional treatment and switch to an alternative therapy.
Alternative therapy is different to 'complementary therapy', which is used alongside conventional medical treatment.
