Bowel cancer is more common among people who eat lots of red and processed meat. But not everyone who eats red and processed will develop bowel cancer, and not all vegetarians will avoid it.

You can reduce your overall cancer risk by eating a healthy, balanced diet that is high in fibre, fruit and vegetables and low in red and processed meat, saturated fat, salt and alcohol.
